A History of Marijuana for Seniors

Over the last ten years, an increasing number of federal governments in the United States have opted to legalize marijuana , both for medical and recreational purposes.  As of 2019, thirty-three states and the District of Colombia have passed laws legalizing the use of marijuana in some form.  We see that this form of medication has found favor with the elderly population for many reasons. You don’t have to smoke it: A misconception about medicinal marijuana  is that users or patients   would have to smoke it to gain its benefits. It can also be ingested in the form of baked goods or treats. Other popular methods include topical application of gels and ointments.   Reduced reliance on opioids: Additionally, prescribing medical marijuana to the elderly for multiple chronic ailments may be well suited as it prevents multiple drug interactions which may be detrimental to their health in the long run.  It eliminates the need for opioids...
